Over the past couple of months, dozens of people submitted a photo or video of their favorite public space. Now it's up to Chicagoland to vote for the best! Between now and Sep. 14, visit PlacemakingChicago.com to vote for your favorite photo and video submission.

The site also features a Google map showing the location of each great place. Residents taking “stay-cations” can use the map to find transit and driving directions to great places right here in metropolitan Chicago.

This contest is part of the Metropolitan Planning Council's Placemaking Chicago project. MPC has partnered with PPS on an initiative to provide Chicago residents with the resources they need to make positive changes in their neighborhoods. For more information, check out placemakingchicago.com.

MPC will continue to promote Placemaking in Chicago through technical assistance, government agency trainings, and a public campaign. For more information, please contact Karin Sommer at ksommer@metroplanning.org.

Little Village hosts a festival to bring life to its streets. This is another great example of Placemaking in the Chicago region. What do you do in your neighborhood?
