3200 Downtown P.O.s To Close Nationwide

A reliable source in downtown Casper has forwarned the Casper DDA office and Board of Directors of an eminent closing of our downtown's post office. Several years ago, the feds tried to close the downtown p.o. because they were building a new facility on the east side of town. Thanks to the support of downtown stakeholders (many who are federal, state, county & city employees), we were able to convince the feds to keep this facility open. Our battle may be bigger this go around due to the mounting federal deficit we are all facing.
We're looking at 1) engaging our members in Congress & the Senate; 2) petitioning by downtown stakeholders, and 3) sending a loss impact letter from DDA partners.....
any other thoughts or ideas to assist us in this campaign?
Thanks,
Tina

Hi Tina,

It always helps to use anecdotes from the people who use the facility. Talk to your fellow neighbors and draw out the stories that demonstrate why the post office is so valuable. If you get permission, use photos of those you speak with. A good story from a real person is a powerful tool.

Good luck!
